FAQs

1. Access and Registration

Any official BMW Group supplier can apply for access and join the new Partner Academy training platform. To do so, you only need to register your company using your current BMW supplier number. Once the registration is validated, you will receive access to enroll in the courses of your interest.

Additionally, you can register and manage your sub-suppliers through your Tier-1 supplier account.
The registration process is completed in four steps:
  1. The company is registered via the registration webform.
  2. After the company has been validated, the Trainings-Admin account is created.
  3. When the Trainings-Admin account is available, learners can be created and booking permissions assigned.
  4. Finally, the Trainings-Admin can book courses and assign licenses to their learners.
Registration is managed by the Trainings-Admin of your organization. Once your account has been created, you will receive an email to set your password, provided that you have already been registered. If you would like to explore the course catalogue, you may also do so without logging in.

If you are not sure whether your company is already registered with a Trainings-Admin, please feel free to contact us via support@partner.academy.
There are two main user roles on the platform:
  • Trainings-Admin: Manages the company account, adds users (Learners), and manages course bookings for all company users.
  • Learner: A registered user who participates in trainings. Can book trainings independently if allowed by the company’s Trainings-Admin.
The number of Trainings-Admins per company is flexible. If needed, additional Trainings-Admins can be requested by contacting support@partner.academy and providing the required details (first name, last name, and email address).

2. Trainings and Participation

Web-based Trainings (WBTs):
These trainings are presented in a video format and can be completed at your own pace. Unlike other formats, WBTs do not have a fixed start or end time, learners can access and complete them whenever they wish, as long as the has not expired. Most WBTs include quizzes that must be completed in order to obtain a certificate of completion.

Face-to-Face Trainings:
In contrast to WBTs, these are trainer-led sessions held at a training facility. They have a defined start and end date and time, requiring learners to attend on-site according to the scheduled timetable.

Virtual Classroom Trainings:
These are also trainer-led sessions that take place virtually at set times. Like Face-to-Face trainings, they follow a fixed schedule with a defined start and end time, allowing participants to join remotely in real time.
Prerequisites are mandatory requirements that all participants must meet before attending a training course. These may include previous trainings that learners must have successfully completed, as well as the availability of specific credentials or access identifiers, such as QX-numbers or BMW ID cards.

It is the responsibility of the Master Admins to ensure that their participants meet all prerequisites, which will be checked and validated by the Support Team. For any questions, feel free to contact: support@partner.academy.
Once the license to complete a Web-Based Training (WBT) is assigned, the user has 365 days of access to complete the training. If the training is not completed within this period, access will expire, and a new license will be required to retake the course.
However, if the learner has successfully completed the WBT within the valid access period, there is no need to renew the license.

Please note: the expiration of access to a WBT is not related to the issued upon successful completion.
Some courses available in the Partner Academy issue certificates upon successful completion, which are valid for a specific period, usually between one and five years.

The expiration date is indicated directly on the certificate received after completing the training. Once the certificate expires, it is no longer valid, and the learner must rebook and retake the training to renew it.

Please note: the certificate expiration is not related to the validity WBTs.
